Although an early approach to demagnetising the platen design still lends itself to certain applications and is particularly suited for use with hardened steel rings and similar components such as those encountered in the ball and roller bearing industries.

The flat hard wearing working surface of the platen type lends itself to either manual operation or can be incorporated into a conveyer belt system which Johnson & Allen can also design and manufacture to suit.
